Rug Frequently Asked Questions
Q. What rug size do I need?
The size of the rug you need is determined by the size of your room and not so much by the layout of your furniture. A rug would look best when centered in the room, and depending on the size of the room, between 1'-3' from the walls. This will allow the rug to cover your floor but still be framed by it, enhancing each others looks. In hallway runner cases the distance between rug and wall can drop to 6".
Your furniture can sit on the rug, off the rug, or partially on the rug.
As for your dining room areas, the rug should extend out at least 2' from the edges of your table.
Q. Where is the best place to put a rug?
All your rooms except doorway mat in front of your garage door can use area rugs. Rugs can be used on all kinds of your existing floors, including carpet. There are different pads designed for hard surfaces and carpet floors, preventing rugs from moving, buckling, or curling.
Most popular areas of the house for area rugs are: Living room, Dining room, Family room, Breakfast room, Foyer, Bedrooms, Hallways, Bathrooms, and Study room.
Q. How accurately do the pictures on the screen reflect the actual colors of the rug?
The color seen on your monitor is usually about 95% accurate and a good representation of the true color of the rug. This can also be affected greatly by the quality of your particular monitor and its color calibration. We make every effort, including state-of-the-art photography and color-coding, to present a picture that accurately represents the real colors of each rug.
Q. I'm allergic to wool, what are my options?
Fortunately, during the last few years, most of the loose fibers, causing allergies, have been removed from all of our wool rugs, and we're proud to say that since then we have not had a single complain. Furthermore, some of our collections are non-wool, but this should not be a decision factor as the wool allergy issue has been remedied.
