Arizona Rug Company is the largest importer of Gabbeh rugs in the USA. For the last few centuries original Gabbeh rugs are being made by migrating gypsies in central Iran (Persia). Gabbeh rugs from Iran are mostly in tribal primitive simple designs and produced mostly in the European sizes. However, Arizona Rug Company, since 2001 has successfully been reproducing Gabbeh rugs in a wider range of designs, colors, and more importantly in the popular American sizes from India. The word "Gabbeh" is Persian (Farsi) and it means "coarse simple primitive rug". Gabbeh rugs are extremely popular in the west and reasonably priced, the colors are skillfully variegated, producing rich textured natural vegetable dye effects

In order to produce less formal look, Gabbeh rugs typically have thick pile, with relatively low knot density, designs are typically simple with very little pattern or figures, depicting landscape or scenes from the weavers surroundings. Gabbeh rugs are unique work of art, distinct from other Persian/Oriental rugs and from many other types of weaving or knotting in general.
